2·1 month agoPerhaps. But I would argue that we have come to learn, that we prosper more when we come together. That is regardless of where you were born, what culture(s) you grew up with, the traditions you had, etc. I highly doubt that the founding fathers foresaw the U.S. becoming the world’s biggest melting pot of culture. And that’s fine. They didn’t need to know that back then. They were doing their best for the time and circumstances. They needed to form a government that could stand the test of time. It wasn’t the best for everything then and it’s certainly not the best for now. But to think that we couldn’t amend what doesn’t work well now days, versus then… Well that’s just foolish thinking.

It’s so refreshing to hear a dev company address these things before early access comes. I’m looking forward to seeing this game make it to 1.0.

To be fair, most of us that are online often, are well aware of this. This decade seems to be the decade to sever ties with major corps and switch over to FOSS.

1·4 months agoThe desire to make everything profitable is a negative by-product of lies and truths that we are in debt as a nation, but not always knowing why or how, in reality. Why the general public believe that we just aren’t making enough money to afford to cover all of the government funded departments, projects, programs, task forces, etc. to keep us going, as so ‘it must be that we aren’t making enough money to cover everything.’ So you either bolster the profit making, reduce or cut funding or balance the budget.
But, we as a nation have believed for so long that capitalism as the backbone of our nation, is our best bet of growing and/or maintaining what we have. And then add in hypercapitalism, and you have a recipe for what the U.S. is facing (in a lot of ways,) right now.
Every hobby has it’s own terms or phrases. Playing video games is no different.
