Season one we have no idea what’s going on but the beginning of season two we know too much for there to be much mystery. Yeah we don’t know Helly’s motives and what they’re working on but neither of those are as interesting as the first season’s total confusion.

I was worried it was going to be essentially reset to be more of S1. I glad that after what I was worried was a fairly safe eps. 1 and 2 to reset the status quo that it hasn’t been scared to break the status quo since then.

Excited to see where it goes.

It shouldn’t. Characters and stories that don’t evolve are just re-runs with different names and faces.

I was still surprised when helly was Helena the whole time. I thought she was keeping the secret out of shame or worry that the others would reject her. Then watching back you realize Helena was watching helly like an actress studying a subject to mimic them.

Season 2 is different from season 1.

Season one explored a science fiction idea, what if we could separate ourselves from ourselves.

Season two however is world building. Don’t get me wrong season one has that as well, for instance the weird Kier dinner in the house, but season two has world building as the focus.

Season two needs to ask all (many) of the questions that will pay off in the finale, so it needs to expand.
