I made a post a bit over a year ago about this guy:
https://lemmy.world/post/25891935

After I braved up and put it outside it absolutely flourished!

The leaves curled right up to the bulb, divided itself, and even gave me a few flowers! Unfortunately I didn’t get flower pictures, it was a bit hectic. But they grew a tall stalk with unassuming yellow, nodding flowers

It spent the darker, colder days sleeping but now the soil is staying warm through the night it knows it’s time to come out. It’s got two bulbs now growing and they each have a huge cluster of leaves starting to emerge; I counted at least eight from each. And the signature curling leaf is apparent even though it’s just barely sprouting

A common name is Frizzle Sizzle, but the scientific name is Albuca spirialis

It’s a perennial bulb as long as you don’t let it freeze. They’re native to south Africa

Yeah, let me edit the title! I guess that may not be widely known as it’s not a super common plant. Which is why I’m super excited that it’s been so happy since I picked it up

I don’t really name my plants but this one has so much character I think it deserves it. I have been paying close attention to it nearly daily, telling it to grow and waiting for some activity. It went completely dormant almost 6 months ago as the days got shorter. The bulb stayed plump and green and I gave it just a bit of water, enough to keep it from going soft while it recovered for the next season, and bringing it inside during the coldest bit of winter because it wouldn’t survive a freeze unprotected
