I kinda feel the last season of Game of Thrones was so transcendentally bad it tainted my memories of everything good before it. I still can’t bring myself to rewatch the first 5 good seasons :<
Season 4 has the Purple Wedding, Oberyn Martell & Tyrion’s trial. Those were all fantastic storylines. Also season 3 ends with the Red Wedding, which is the peak of the series, so the shark was far from jumped.
The ending of game of thrones wasnt good but it doesn’t cause the rest of the series to suddenly suck

my game of thrones hot take is that it jumped the shark in season 3, and season 4 onward is irredeemable

Lol, that’s a more popular take. I think 5 & 6 are still worth it and it’s only 7 & 8 where things go truly off the rail.
