With Sony now moving away from physical games I wanted to go over something that is really disappointing with an entire evolution of gaming getting retired.
“Entire evolution”? Do they mean “generation”? How do you categorize an “evolution”?
Don’t be idiots and get out of Sony’s grip, they will delete content that you paid for and you won’t get anything in return other than a dunce cap.
An interesting point made with the advancement of 200GB bluray discs but I don’t think it’s really needed for games to go that far. Also having a console without physical media is just wrong to me so I guess PS5 is my end of the line.
A console without a way to sell or trade games is just a locked PC, so is pointless to me. Once the tech I already have is no longer supported, it’ll be an all PC gaming future for me. Uh, and maybe Nintendo if they’re still making games I like and not charging too much for hardware.
Nintendo is pulling the same crap. They still have physical releases, but some of the game cards don’t contain any data, only a voucher to download the game.
That’s true, but they at least are making it possible to sell and trade the license to download the game while the servers are up. Hardly ideal, but better than cutting it out entirely.
Also, they make exclusives that are unlike anything else out there. I wouldn’t miss Sony’s exclusives.
PS4 was mine
Ps3 here. Put cfw on it afterwards and still have a load of disks for it. They can go suck a lemon.
I swtiched to steam and never looked back. I mostly play on the deck these days
I don’t have a PlayStation, but with this and other gaming things, I’ve decided that I’m just done buying games unless it’s on pc and from an indie dev.
Same, it’s lit
“Pls gibs me clicks 4 monies.”
