This is nothing new. Liberals have always done this throughout history. They put all the blame on individuals to cover up the root cause of these constantly reoccuring wars and genocides.
Netanyahu isn’t the problem.
Israel is. The West is. Imperialism is. Capitalism is.

That’s what Netanyahu is for, that’s what Trump is for. They are scapegoats, sineaters to absorb the blame.
None of what they want could happen without a LOT of powerful, filthy-rich people behind them, and significant public support of at least some of their platform.
Re this issue, Israelis know that their lives depend on victory, as do the Palestinians. There is no “two-state” solution. They are both dedicated to the destruction of the other.
All of them? Of course not. But fundamentalist Islam and Judaism both ironically agree on “from the river to the sea”, they both believe that this is ordained by God. One will always “genocide” the other.
History has proved that you can burn Jerusalem to the ground, and the fundies (including Christians) will proudly fight to the death over the rubble.
But the Palestinians are already home, it is their land that has been taken from them. They are colonizing invoking a 2000-year exile and 3000-year religious claims.
