Not too long ago GM was going bankrupt because it couldn’t afford the pensions of their retirees because healthcare costs grew much faster than inflation.

Businesses do bot want universal healthcare even if it makes it easier to run a profitable business. What they want is a workforce that will stay loyal to them because they don’t want to lose their healthcare by going to a competitor.

NHS costs 4600$ per recipient.

Current US public spending on healthcare (Medicaid, medicare, ACA subsidies, Veteran healthcare…) is 5600$ per capita (not recipient)…

We could lower taxes and give everyone free healthcare.

Fuck it, that extra 1000$ can go straight to the president pocket if he gives us Medicare for all.
