It’s about time. Generally speaking the UK have some pretty robust consumer protection laws, mostly thanks to the EU, but the laws around renting were draconian, they might as well of not existed.

To be clear I’m not really all that certain on why they would be quitting, you can still absolutely make money as a landlord under these rules you’re just not allowed to run a Victorian era workhouse level operation. Maybe that’s what all these landlords were doing.
