minus-squarekittenzrulz123@lemmy.blahaj.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up28·21 days agoI use Alpine, tbh I dont see why I should learn an entire programming language just for a distro
minus-squarelilith267@lemmy.blahaj.zonelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up12·21 days agoAlpine just feels like everything on my system is there for a reason (and somehow makes arch feel “bloated”) so I 100% understand wanting a full config file for everything on your system. But DAMN THE DOCS SUCK. Also NixOS locks you into systemd…
minus-squareJigglySackles@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up6·21 days agoI keep seeing this sentiment, what’s wrong with systemd?
minus-squarescintilla@lemm.eelinkfedilinkarrow-up2·20 days agonothing. It’s an ideological thing that says systemd bad because its not Unix enough usually.
minus-squareJigglySackles@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·20 days agoLmao gotcha. I won’t worry about it then. Currently distro shopping. 🙂

minus-squarecorsicanguppy@lemmy.calinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·21 days ago NixOS locks you into systemd… Okay! Nix is out until it fixes that. What a fucking mess systemd is.
minus-squarePossibly linux@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·edit-220 days agoWhy do you use Alpine?
minus-squarePossibly linux@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·20 days agoAlpine actually isn’t more lightweight than something like Debian. You can use whatever you want of course. I think Alpine is best used in a container.
