Go read what she voted for and not just news articles trying to make some purity fight on the left. Propaganda is working on you. Go look at her choices for the whole bill and see what actually happened. Rather than taking the headlines and people crying. Cause you cry about AOC but show me someone in America LEADIng better than her. Don’t get me wrong she isn’t perfect but if you can’t play chess and understand the value of all the pieces you should stick to checkers so you understand blue is your team and is better than red who is your opponent.
Aportionment voting. As close to possible make sure the voting for a party gets appropriate representation then vote in who by primary. If this is a 100 seat senate and the state goes 48%red 51% blue and 1 % green each color holds a primary after the election to choose who will represent this platform that got them elected. This creates unity inside a party on issues in which everyone should campaign on and if you aren’t striving to enact the platform it is more seen and you are less likely to be voted in in the primary next time. This creates more parties as if you have a different platform what is the point being in the same party. You still have to play smart like the green party should work green if they have the same agenda that way people don’t get upended but generally this is better
I don’t think districts are good. I think allocation based on proportion is better if we are going to change laws. If there is 10 seats 55.1%/44.9% is the vote for platforms in the state then we should hold a primary for 4 seats on x platform and 6 primary election for other platforms. Then land weirdness won’t matter per state. Every vote counts.
We actually don’t legally have to carry him to term…if enough people elect progressive democrats but that is unrealistic
Agreed on that but I do think at least with the tax infrastructure/enforcement nowadays the money has to come from the fed budget as the economy is national/global.
Agreed. How do we organize the economy to reflect this. 2024 our gdp was close to $30 trillion. In 2025 there was around 165 million workers and let’s say a population of 350 million people. Each worker produces on average $181k of productivity. Each citizen has about $85k worth of productivity each year attributed to them. Even in today’s American every citizen can afford some luxuries if productivity was more equitably shared across the country. How can we enforce this more
Limit C-suite wages to their bottom line workers including the sub contracted janitors.
All boards must have labor interests in the company represented.
Higher tax on money so it can go into subsidies for the disabled and poor.
Cancel restrictions on savings/resources money for disabled people. Have a more progressive subsidy system for the poor.
Destroy redundancy in the economy. Health care insurance, pharmaceutical companies, military spending, and education. We spend money as a society on these endeavors they should be owned and controlled by the people. We shouldn’t be paying for the profit of military contractors, pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, and education. There should be budgets and it costs what it costs. Our military should also be brought back to America if we want to keep the jobs program we can defend ourselves from our own soil and excess military people can do public service work like bridges and roads. If the government spends money it should go to employing people directly not private corporate hands
As a white person.
Justice can not be served for black people or other racial minorities if we pull up the wealth ladder and tax them as they get money. The system was racist and allowed white people to get ahead if you tax everyone equally who do you harm the poorer and newer wealthy people. If you don’t take from a subset of the population you harm
We had a racist system that allowed wealth to go to white people. We eliminated the slave labor 164 years ago and tradition of viewing and treating other races as less than(in theory 61 years ago). But the white already wealthy people already own everything and have generational wealth. We have not had a thing that helped black people specifically. They were suppose to get 40 acres and a mule. A generation hasn’t even passed of being able to discriminate against races.
If you pull up the ladder of wealth you are only hurting new wealth which would be proportionally more black people versus targeting old wealth which would proportionally be white people.
Lastly Mamdani said he was describing the neighborhood he was targeting with his changes to taxing. He wasn’t going to put language into law that it had to be white people.
That isn’t how taxes work in the usa. The government borrows money from your/our future prints it to pay all its bills. Taxes just cover a bit of the expenditures when they come in. The government can care less about balancing the budget. So it doesn’t matter if they get their money throughout the year or in April you wont hurt them. Only thing at risk is general people being audited and hurt also i believe you pay a penalty for not paying through the year. Since I have been alive we never have had a surplus. It would take years of a democratic presidency for the surplus to hit as the programs take years to produce profits and reduce the deficit. Sadly a democratic president/platform never stays popular for long enough.
As of currently the way the government works is everything is paid for by printing money and the government taking out loans. It claws some money back with taxes but they haven’t covered the government since I have been alive.
The only access to them is media in the backroom or private event held by rich asking what do you think of protests on main street because you can’t get close to their property and if you can they are probably in another house
New York state it is $15.50 NYC area $16.5 most states have a higher minimum wage except the deep red states
Usa employers did the math they fire most full-time employees and reduce staffing and only hire part-time workers walmart back in 2011-13 when I worked there only had 8-10 full time employees which were managers and even some department managers would only get 32 hours a week to avoid giving benefits or health insurance. Every one i knew who were full time worked there for 10 + years. Even if you increase minimum wage they will find ways to reduce costs in staffing so you really need to penalize companies
Less of the annoying kid more of an annoying teacher, admin, and staff. Like peer pressure and desire to follow along made me do it but the teacher and the staff couldn’t explain why we should and that made me question it and leading me to consider the kid right
Correct.
