Yeah, that’s definitely a shame. Let’s see how it goes, but I’m about to create a !usdefaultism somewhere just to list those occurrences
moderation sucks across the vast majority of Lemmy
Moderation isn’t ideal, but absent moderators aren’t going to moderate even with the best tools
Probably very difficult due to network effect indeed. Also privacy would be a challenge I guess?
They just did [email protected]
Your comment makes sense. To be honest as they stated that everyone one was involved in the redaction of the last communication it seemed just easier to ask for a complete uphold of the team.
That’s not something that can simply be fixed by an apology. It’s something that would require some significant introspection.
The whole team should resign
You’re not the first one to point it out, maybe I should remove this post.
To answer your question, as I said in another comment, I wanted to use this example for when people ask “how does a public modlog make Lemmy better than Reddit”, which is a question that comes up quite once in a while: https://feddit.org/post/4920887/3235141
We also public shame mods all the time on [email protected], no sure why potential trolls could not be called out too.
I’m surprised by the numbers too, why would someone downvote such thread?
Huge news !
