If any band has enough fans to have a “fandom”, they deserve it. You still never have to listen to them or buy their music and that is fine as well. Anyone who names a band they dislike, probably has one they like that others on here hate. Big deal. Everyone has their own taste. All hype is, well, hype. It is all manufactured.

You would think that with all the ‘expert’ tech people out of jobs maybe they could band together and take the billionaires down? It would cause a depression but I think that would be more palatable than the depression that is coming regardless but in which the billionaires will still be billionaires?

State? They would willing be leaving Canada (with a lot less of AB than they think they could take). The US would have all the advantage and it wouldn’t be granting statehood. I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up with less rights than Puerto Rico. They’d have to go that route though since they couldn’t pull off being a separate country.

Over the years, I’ve changed my take on this. So what if a woman regrets it. She’s the only one affected. Her decision. Her choice. A man can decide at any age to procreate so he is not as affected. Wife/partner doesn’t want kids, he can find a woman who does. Versus having child(ren) that aren’t wanted or supported who regret their own lives and have parents who regret they were born. Lots of regret all around. As to the grandchild loss and grandparent regret, there are plenty of kids out there who like having surrogate grandparents. Go for the least regret possible.

The (BC Pacific) ocean swim group usually has 2 or 3 people show up. Today had 12. I’ll bet Monday is back down to the usual number.

I’m glad I dated in the 80s. Murder rate was much higher but we didn’t live in fear because there wasn’t a social media algorithm telling us to be afraid of everything.

It’s a bit scary that anything children were once expected to learn has now become “the calculator”. When calculators first came out the cry was ‘why do we need to learn to do math any more when this device can do it for us?’ Computers continued that trend. Smart phones even more so. It is a part of history that is hard to understand, how did a former, reasonably advanced civilization lose its advanced skills? We might be watching in real time how it happens. Except this time it is us, not an ancient civ.

Unfortunately I don’t think this is a “conservative or republican” problem. Almost all Americans are too “me first individualists” until something affects them personally. In Canada it is Conservatives and Albertans who are more likely to be individualistic.

I don’t continuously wear a monitor, just when I’m experiencing some flux in my glucose measurements. In big print, all the Libre 2 monitors I have had say to double check odd or unexpected glucose readings or reading that don’t correspond with how you are feeling with a finger prick device. I have had the low glucose warning several times and I double check it. Only once has it been a real low glucose reading. Technology can be very helpful but you still have to use it correctly.

The reverse as well: who is that old guy (my dad) who seems to have aged a decade in the last year and looks far more like his father than he ever used to? Seriously I walked in the door and thought somehow that my Grandfather was back among the living.

What I really dislike is the parents who refuse to vaccinate their children, because big pharma/nature best/other insane arguments, but then take them to an ER when they inevitably get that preventable disease. For fuck’s sake, stay consistent. If you don’t vaccinate, do not go to the hospital later.

Which means, as the law is being followed in the US right now, only the plebs at the bottom might be held responsible.
