At least they admitted it. That said, I’ll never fuck with anything ‘vibe coded’, AI sucks.

I don’t like him, he’s too much of an opportunist. When you’re willing to throw lgbt people under the bus, as he’s done many times, you’re willing to throw others under the bus too when it suits you. So I would personally caution about voting for someone based on small aspects of their character instead of the whole (people throught Trump was funny in 2016, and now we’re here).
If Newsom ends up winning the primary, I’ll obviously vote for him. There’s no other fucking choices. But I have little confidence given his record. I only know that he’d run things less poorly than the fascists, but that bar is as low as it gets.

Like 0.1, or less.
I got Boost once they released the Lemmy version, and then I got one single PragerU ad. That pissed me off, a lot, those shitheads are my enemies. I basically coin-flipped between picking a different app that wouldn’t give ad space to those pricks, and just buying the ad-free thing, but laziness prevailed and I bought the thing instead. Still on Boost to this day.
Fuck advertising, the entire advertising industry, and the plain concept of forcing your brand in front of a person’s eyes non-consentually, should all disappear in the future.

Books@lemmy.world•Reading For Fun Is Plummeting in The US, And Experts Are ConcernedEnglish
5·4 months agoI hadn’t read for fun for like a decade and a half. But in the last few months, I got myself hooked on yuri manga, and then yuri light novels. I kept hitting a wall whenever a manga wasn’t done yet but the light novels were. I just kept saying “fuck it” and finishing with the novel, rather than waiting forever for the rest.
It happened with Otherside Picnic, it happened with I’m in Love with the Villainess, and a couple of others. Then I started just buying more ebooks, standalone stories without manga adaptations, for the fuck of it. Reading is great.

19·6 months agoThis happened to me before. They unbanned and rebanned me like twice, the IT guy emailing back was very sure I was using “scripts” of some kind that were harming the website, somehow. Ultimately I just stopped visiting KYM.

11·7 months agoOther countries don’t have this problem, most picked other voting forms than “first past the post”, which over time destroyed our ability to have more than two actual serious political parties. So both those parties get overtaken by ethically dubious people, overtly for the entire republican party, and subtly with the establishment democrats, and it all collapses.
A guy at my work is like this. He ended up being the only person I spoke to irl that actually went off on the bullshit immigrants-eating-cats-and-dogs thing that mango mussolini was screeching about a while back. Had another unasked-for immigrant conversation the other day when he butted in on my break time. Fucking hate people like this, I just want the guy to get the hint to shut the fuck up and leave me alone.

Games@lemmy.world•Over a hundred thousand Dune Awakening players got swallowed by the sandworm | Massively OverpoweredEnglish
29·7 months agoI played the beta weekend, I liked it. I want to play it again once it’s out in June, although there were annoying parts. The sun gives you heat stroke or something as a status meter, and it makes you dehydrate faster until you get to shade. With how often you’re out doing stuff in the sun, it was kind of annoying, because I just had to keep going on blood harvesting trips through NPC camps, to proccess it at my base to keep my water stocked. But in the full game with better tech unlocked, I’m sure it ends up being fine.
A lot of people also got pissed at the sandworm because if you get eaten, all your stuff is destroyed with no way to recover it (unlike a normal death where you can loot your corpse), and sometimes it can feel abrupt when they breach. That said, I never got eaten ny the sandworm in my ~15 hours of play during the beta.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•So does remastered oblivion have remastered dlcs or is the remastered compatible with old dlcs and mods like NWN Enhanced seem to be?English
6·8 months agoWorse isn’t really the appropriate word. It’s more dated mechanically than Skyrim, but it also has some interesting game mechanics to that ended up cut from Skyrim, like spellcrafting. In terms of story, it’s got one of the most interesting DLCs the series has had to date, Shivering Isles, and a lot of other decent questlines in the base game and other DLC areas. Worst parts of the remaster are probably just poor optimization for UE5, so it can often run like crap on PC, and of course, all the existing design issues and bugs that Oblivion already had from its original iteration, because the original engine and game logic is still all there and what was principally changed was the UI, the graphics renderer, and some quality of life stuff here and there.

Since it’s stuck in a loop, maybe its conditions are somehow being reset to fresh and hot as it’s pulled over the panel edge. Or else, that thing is ice cold, rock hard, and completely inhospitable to microbial life, since from its perspective, it’s probably been looping for a long, long time.

22·9 months agoAs an American, this is good slang. I hate it here.

It always sounded awful. But I don’t even think it’s that, because as far as I’m concerned, if god is anything besides made up, there’s no way it doesn’t just slowly consume souls of the dead.
Easy food, just subsist off the faithful and keep the train going for thousands of years with infighting and a strong drive to proselytize non-believers. Some kind of cosmic horror shit or something, gotta be.
Edit: But to be clear, I’m not trying to imply anyone following this or other religions is wrong or anything, or that I actually believe this (I’m in the “it’s made up” camp), I just think cosmic horror is neat and love overthinking :3
