I wonder why? Just taste buds changing as you get older, or more exposure to alternatives?
I suppose also that the flavors themselves might have changed over time, but there are plenty of people that love them now, probably.

Thanks for allowing me, too, to experience a patronizing grandad’s voice so that I can empathize with OP

Since you mention the d-pad. It was patented, so all the big companies had their own legally distinct spins on it. Nintendo has their cross; sega had a circle thing; Sony had discrete buttons, Microsoft had a different circle thing.
The Nintendo patent actually expired a number of years ago now, so nowadays the cross is showing up more places.
Wood stoves have something called a baffle plate that redirects hot air so that it flows along the interior top of the unit before leaving through the chimney. The purpose is to heat the metal enough for radiation tranferrance. I often put a ceramic-coated cast iron kettle on top, and it will boil if left for a while. Anyone who sits on the stove would have a very bad time.
Built in fireplaces work differently but aren’t typically sit-onable.

Some things I wasn’t told ahead of time but wish I had been:
Your particular gfx card might have issues with your Linux distro. Save yourself a lot of troubleshooting and research ahead of time which distros are more likely to work out of the box with your card. After I started over and switched to PopOS for Nvidia, my life has been a lot easier.
There is a fork of Proton called Proton-GE made by some dude with the moniker GloriousEggroll. It includes more features than base Proton like the ability to play more cutscenes and various graphical updates. For my build, it was essentially required.
Just another note. Steam is great; for everything else there’s Heroic launcher. It’ll launch Gog, Epic… The non-steam launchers. And you can choose your compatibility layer, so if you install Steam first, it’ll default to Proton.
I have an iron woodstove. It gets very hot, but that’s the point.
Amanda Hugandkiss?
I think he had two (cowboy and bawitdaba), so I’m sure he’d be offended at being called a one hit wonder.

I mean, I hope so, just like I hoped so for Twitter.
Evidently a lot of people can’t give up whatever is the biggest social platform of its type
Wait, what’s the other hand doing?

I really wish Randy would shut the fuck up, because it seems like the actual devs really care about this game.
I think “mating” is more effective. A minor double-take means you’re more likely to remember it. Besides, textbook writers should be allowed to fit in jokes where they can; their work seems dry as hell.

So would it be accurate to say that autism is on a spectrum that also includes non-autistic people?

Yeah, lemmy definitely isn’t immune, there’s just a lot less of it almost definitely in part because there is a lot less engagement in general.

I live in one of those states, and increasingly seems it’s either that or we just all move to BC
From Sesame Street. And yes, it was politicized not too long ago. It feels like ages, but that’s just 2025 for ya.
I know this is true because I’ve never seen a fish with acne
Nah, you’re not wrong. Sure, there was some more obscure stuff, but I’d say most could be figured out by context or from a traceable evolution from previous generations’ slang. The difference now is video-based social media has slang spreading and evolving at lightspeed. It’s impossible to keep up unless you’re immersed in that bubble either directly or by proxy of peers.
I’m currently playing The Outer Worlds on the hardest difficulty which, among other things, disallowes fast-travel. For the most part, the worlds have been small and it hadn’t been a problem, but yesterday I had to go back and forth to 3 locations several times in a row in different corners of the map. It only took a five minutes each time, but ugh. It got old.
