My dad is a huge MAGA guy and a postmaster. Also set to retire in 3 years. He thinks this is all fake news and Trump is “cleaning up” things. Can’t wait till he gets cleaned up and we get to have that convo.

I’ve said it before, why would he would have to? Having to do something is usually due to the fact that not doing it is illegal. Trump doesn’t care about the law. He would just say “no” and then nothing happens like usual.

I’m the CTO of my company and was just forced this week to downsize from 48 devs to 3… It was really hard. Telling everyone myself was even harder. Everyone was nice about it, understood it wasn’t my choice, but you’re impacting lives. To talk to someone having a normal day and then suddenly they’re reeling and trying to think of how they’ll survive.

I honestly think if our board has to be the ones to tell them it wouldn’t even register for them. It would be like ordering food. The people at that level only see money.

The thing is, for that to have teeth there needs to be a credible threat to him. There isn’t one right now.

I think knowing something like office software helps since that novel problem. Knowing how to do a pivot table can get you an outcome you need in a fraction of the time if you don’t know how to do one. You need to know how to use the tools to create a solution.

The thing is, he can just fire or arrest them and do what he wants. Will those arrests stick or will they accept being fired, probably not. But he just needs someone to do what he says and he’s got unlimited power. And he’s gone out of his way to install people who see his demands as above the law.

Well if you think a leader being elected means everyone wants that leader then there’s not much of a conversation to be had, because that’s simply not true. Never has that been true throughout history.

Well one problem would be thinking everyone in the US is the same. Not everyone voted for him, not everyone wants this.

Yes the US has a ton of problems, yes idiots are voting against their own self interest, but that’s not what the country is comprised entirely of. A lot of people did the best they could given their situation, a lot of people didn’t. But we can’t paint them all with the same brush stroke.
