I’ve used Facer, it’s worth the cost if you like accessorizing regularly. It has a lot of options from indie artists, including replica OG Disney Mickey Mouse. My watch always complains about not being able to save power with 3rd party faces though, and the battery life drops about 40% to 72 hours. Worse with Facer because it’s an app that’s no doubt doing more than facilitating watchfaces.

Lyra_Lycan@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Person backed the Stop Killing Games campaign. criticizing digital game licenses. He argued that if players don't truly own games, then piracy isn't theft.English22·3 days agoPersson left Mojang because he was, I imagine like the entire Mojang crew, unprepared for the monolithic success of Minecraft. These are apparently also his reasons for selling to M$: He disliked the fame and responsibility, and wanted to return to what an indie dev always wants - to make smaller games and have a wholesome connection with the gaming community. The last straw for him was a lot of people being assholes at him just because he’s the lead dev of Mojang. So, he handed the reins to Jens Bergensten. GameRant source
On an unrelated side note, Persson has got some shitty opinions, but is quick at patching and apologising for some of them. Im 2016-2019 he expressed anti trans, misogynistic and racist views on Twitter. So, he’s hateful, but he supports consumers. Wikipedia source
Where I come from roads are for motor vehicles and anything below 15mph shares the path/sidewalk. The national law started fucking with that and I’ve argued with my partner, who wants to follow the rules, against me, who thinks the rules are stupid and dangerous.
I went cycling with her recently, once, and while following her rules and the law, had three pricks. One in a car committed a blind hump overtake well above the speed limit to get past us - only incredibly dangerous - and two white van men were impatient also, one of which, at a traffic light, revved engine scaring my partner and pissing me off. I am a defiant person so I fight a threat. In this case I only took more time speeding up and flipped him off, because you know, I left my weapons at home. Bro nearly busted his engine to intimidate us, only to turn left and not even be slowed down by us.
Now she’s scared to cycle because it’s too dangerous on the road - duh - and she’s also experienced pedestrian pricks too. It’s not an apocalyptic or feudal era but you have to prepare to be assaulted before going out all the same.

It’s 2025. Fascism and authoritarianism is on the rise in my country, leading my likeliness to become part of a localised resistance army, or a ‘terrorist’, to rise to 40%. Being a trans woman, I’m probably already considered a terrorist by some people.
I agree that ads can help people be aware of a product’s existence, but I believe, especially at this stage when I am tired of being spoonfed, that a more organic way is preferable. For example - forums, product reviews (REAL ones ofc), product storefronts including online marketplaces…
When someone needs something, they can go looking for it. A door that grates on a frame for example, may be talked about on a forum, which discusses the products others have found to help. In this case a mouse(shaped) sander. The person can then follow breadcrumbs to the most convenient store that sells it.
This is actually the way I find most things I need. The vast majority of products shown to me, passively on various items in the streets or in video format, are useless to me. Regarding VPNs, I first learned about them when I looked for a solution to a website article having an error page stating that it cannot be viewed in my country. Again when I pirated movies. Eventually I saw Mullvad mentioned on Reddit, when I entered more FOSS and Linux spaces

Lyra_Lycan@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Mullvad's ads are goodEnglish102·11 days agoHere’s the thing. The reason ads are bad is because almost every single one is for a product that will exploit the user. Mullvad is a product that does the opposite. They ask for money, but don’t force it. They intend to give power of the user’s life back to the user. Thus, some ads are actually okay. Ads about VPNs, self hosted systems, anti-corporate anticapitalist services, software that is for you to use and only ever takes telemetry for software improvement, and then only if you consent first.
Hell, before this garbage, on TV the only ads were products and charities, and everybody grew really sick of the African child ads because its sole purpose was to exploit the viewer’s empathy and get their money. Same with now, except if it’s not money they want it’s data, and data is money to them.
I feel the same about companies like Anker’s audio branch Soundcore using Kickstarter to prefund/advertise their new tech - safe to say their ‘projects’ are funded about 20,000%
