So regardless of what people believe about the effects, it is a real thing that can be detected. So it is at the very least a form of pollution. All the rest of the claims need not be used to justify saying that the DC needs to be designed not to pollute. That said, current medical science has a ton of gaps. It can’t say what levels of this is safe. So it should be treated as potentially dangerous.
They used to have xrays in shoe stores to help you get the right size shoes. They had no idea at the time how much cancer they were causing. We shouldn’t make the same type of mistake again.

Normal decible meters don’t register it because why would you make one that did? Most decibel meters are made specifically to detect threats to your hearing. My understanding is that meters made for this range can detect it though. So at least the presence of the sound should be verifiable. That of course does nothing to prove the other claims.

Well, everyone has a right to express their opinion. And people are used to a certain set of opinions being expressed in “large” ways. Expressing the opinion is not illegal. Nor should it be. So most people would not take action as it is legally protected. A commenter in another thread said it was taken down for violating zoning rules and such. And that is reasonable. Expressing your opinion is fine, but forcing others to see your expression should have some limits. Just like ads should as well.

Which is really the problem. They are using the Harley Davidson business model. Make something hard to aquire and people will perceive it as more valuable. They have a tough interview process, it demands skills that aren’t needed for the job. The job itself is just like any other large corp job. Lots of overhead, lots of bureaucracy. They do this because it keeps their pipeline of candidates full. But also because people who get hired will often feel like they were given a chance to prove themsleves or something. But in reality, very few people will know the difference between someone who was highly successful there and someone who was not.

And most of them have a lots of custom software that was developed in house. I interviewed a guy from AWS not long ago. Nice guy, clearly trapped in a shitty work environment. Been there long enough to be senior. Trouble is he had no experience or even exposure to the tools we needed. All he had was AWS experience. If he was less than senior, that would be fine, but for a senior roll, he needed to have somthing else. They do that to make it garder for people to leave.

In my mind, fang is a waste of talented people. With the skills needed to pass the interview, most could do a lot more somewhere smaller.

Given the lack of true understanding in the medical field… I wouldn’t bet on that. The list of things they don’t know the cause of is really long.

That said, I don’t care if someone claims they can feel it. If it can be reliably detected at distance from the facility, then it shouldn’t be allowed. Just because it has no proven impact doesn’t mean it has no impact.

The english language really does suck. Soo many words have too many meanings with critical differences. But I suppose if we had enough words for each to have only one meaning we could never remember them all.

I struggle in my own head on such things. I think it is ridiculous to shame anyone for such things. But I personally dislike armpit hair on a women. Of course I also don’t like it much on me either. Yes they could always be sued. But people tend to shy away from sueing big companies like google. Seeing someone else win, makes it feel possible. Plus it shows a strategy for winning. Thus increasing the number of people trying for a payday.

Don’t think you can get that from a civil suit. But I don’t disagree.

Not a “legal” precedent. But a precedent that they can be sued, and they can lose. Causing more people to sue…

I tried, but it was painful to listen to all the extra words and deadend sentences. I get that not everyone can be a good fluent speaker, but not everyone should be guest appearing (or whatever) on podcasts either.

I totally agree that not all undercover cops are deep cover. But the ones that aren’t basically aren’t hiding it all day everyday. They hide it to do a simple sting like to bust a prostitute. Once the bust happens, they don’t care who kmows. And the relatively small time criminals they are busting aren’t getting all techy to try and find them.
