President Musk will never allow it.
The gods of the deep need some of that, too. Titan was a worthy sacrifice.
I could have been a junior dev that could code. I learned to do it before ChatGPT. I just never got the job.
Four deadly crashes and it hasn’t even been a fucking month yet.
It makes HAL 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyessy seem realistic. In the movie he is a highly technical AI but doesn’t understand the implications of what he wants to do. He sees Dave as a detriment to the mission and it can be better accomplished without him… not stopping to think about the implications of what he is doing.
The one thing that I learned when talking to chatGPT or any other AI on a technical subject is you have to ask the AI to cite its sources. Because AIs can absolutely bullshit without knowing it, and asking for the sources is critical to double checking.
Yeah it mattered so much to them that they never bombed a single school or hospital to avoid casualities! Man what humane people /s
They would have been far, far more efficient if they weren’t so anti-computer. The first attempts at creating a computer system actually dates back to the 1930s during the Stalin era, but Stalin didn’t like it and shut it down (in the West computers were just starting to be invented) and in the early 60s they could have let OGAS be aggressively developed. This would have resulted in an economic boom for the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 80s instead of a downturn. On top of that, the internet as we know it would have been a hell of a lot more different AND better developed if that was the case.
Do you remember on how Sputnik and the Soviets sending a man into space sent the US into a massive tizzy to try to outdo the Soviets in space? Can you imagine if the Soviets also made the first internet and networked computer system that actually ran well? Imagine the pace and the priority given to that instead of the bullshit that was the Vietnam war at the time.
I studied webdev and coding the hard way and I loved it. I felt unstoppable. But I still never got the job. But watching those people fail is still quite satisfying.
mechnical brakes are well established. Tesla’s take on them is apparently something else…
Yeah I found it preposterous when I heard of such laws in Japan. Also the fact that you can get YEARS in prison for such a thing is even more fucked up. The disparity between three years and 500,000 yen, which is close to 3500$US is also ridiculous.
This would be seen as too absurd even for a 90s or 2000s dystopian sci-fi movie. Tesla’s advancements in automotives has always been about sending out half-baked tech and having the people test it at their expense, while other EV manufacturers did it the traditional way of actually testing the shit in proper facilities before putting it on the market…
I learned that AI chat bots aren’t necessarily trustworthy in everything. In fact, if you aren’t taking their shit with a grain of salt, you’re doing something very wrong.
He bought Twitter for 44 billion… and the US presidency for 290 million.
That is the single most dystopian shit I have ever heard. The idea that people and countries are so dirt cheap and companies are orders of magnitude more valuable is a thing that should damn their souls to hell.
You how bad this is affecting me? I’ve been an atheist and anti-death penality most of my life… Musk has for the past while made me think that the death penalty needs to be applied to people like him (and Israeli war criminals) and not to common crooks and common murderers. He is even making me want a hell to exist so people like him can burn in it.
Do you realize how fucking insane that is? From 1921 to 1951 the rate of auto deaths dropped by around 50%, and from 1921 to 2011 the rate dropped by 90%. This is not just due to regulations on cars and pedestrian travel, but also in very large part due to crash safety in cars that steadily improved. With crash safety becoming a science, and crash test dummies being invented, and crumple zones, and air bags and seatbelts and the laws thereof.
Musk, asshole motherfucker that he is, is trying to destroy all of that.
So can I have a private version of it that doesn’t tell everyone about me and my questions?
The guy he killed was someone we would grow to hate. He isn’t like JFK who was extremely popular at the time.
