I was wondering that too… maybe they meant: plant new trees, and the total number of new trees would be 95% of the number of old trees?

I know this probably isn’t AI because the blanket pattern is too sophisticated, but something about this says AI to me. What is it? Maybe bc the cat faces all look so similar?

The article seems well-written, except that:

Seriously? Flipboard has like one thousand Monthly Active Users and we have like 50 times that, but we’re like “and others” lel… I guess they didn’t mention Pixelfed either tho and it’s a lot “hotter”…

I think what they’re getting at is this is clearly a simple script doing template generation: (1) statement of praise (2) statement of encouragement/thanks (3) a couple emoji. The sentences that are used to populate the templates might be LLM-generated, but these aren’t state-of-the-art neural network "AI"s.

• the one that starts “AAAAAAAAAAAAA”
• the one with the lyrics that are like WOAHWOAHWOAHWOAH urghurghurghurgh AAAAAAA

That’s kind of like going up to a display that says “free sample - one per customer” and taking several samples. And doing so on a first date, like: this is who I am. It’s not really bad or anything, it’s just… kind of weird and embarassing.
