I have long wanted a directed EM projector that could destroy electronics from 10 meters away. A cellphone death ray, as it were.
Well the x-rays have gotten much better. Don’t really need the lead vest anymore.
I grew up before the whole shaving fad and shaved women look unnatural to me. For some reason I blame the French for this, probably because the first reference to shaving I remember was from the movie Amelie.
Or wish for the genie to be free, like Fox Mulder did.
These genie wishes are always monkey paws. Better to do something that wasn’t going to blow back, like crashing the genie.
There is a book called Waiting for the Intergalactic bus where god and satan turn out to be 2 energy based life forms who are students and were accidentally left behind on a class trip. Satan decides to ignore the prime directive and interfere with life on earth to pass the time. The torture in hell is strictly the humans idea, if I remember correctly.

1·6 days agoI have found a couple of web sites that don’t work with Firefox on Linux but do with with Firefox on Win11. Costco pharmacy is one. I still have a win11 laptop I can use, but I don’t use it a lot and there are always massive updates every time I power it up.
I think I have seen claims that EVERYBODY made it to the Americas before C Columbus. In no order: the Vikings (might be true)
the Irish
the Romans
the Egyptians
the Basques
the Phoenicians
the Polynesians (probably true)
and, of course, people from Atlantis
