  • I love car owners for that. It’s always “what about me? What about prioritizing me?”. My local community Facebook page is full of them, they are all so mad about the only bike lane in the neighbourhood and after the last snowfall(two huge ones back to back) they could only complain about not having their back alley and their sidewalk cleared like the city wasn’t scrambling to clear everything.

My car was trapped, too. As usual I just took the metro and had the barest amount of patience.

  • A binary as in you can call someone a piece of absolute fucking trash and still not try to take their rights away. And I specifically said I will always treat them as human because I have principles. Also lacking a soul is a more flowery, poetic way of saying that they seem unable to have kind of compassion or joy and they treat situations as mathematic bullshit instead of ever taking into consideration a human aspext(but boy are they also full of feelings and absolutely terrible at math).

Like, I’m glad you’re looking out but I think you’re missing the nuance here.

  • I like what the left wants is universal healthcare, a social safety net, housing for everyone, just stuff where we’d love it if everybody had access to it. The only people who need to be “hurt” are the straight-up actual criminals who seem to otherwise dodge every consequence and those people are extremely rich assholes who have a lot of power and use it all for pure evil and none of them are regular people.

But then the right comes along and it’s always “how can we bring the most cruel, crude punishment to this margainalized group of poor people?” and it’s just, like…fucking really?

  • When Odeh requested to know the titles of the seized books and the names of their authors, Malka responded: “I cannot answer. We will confront [the Munas] with the books when I receive authorization … It will take time to go through them, which is why we are here requesting a several-day extension of the [Munas’] detention … Most of the books are in Arabic, some are in English, and some in German. I can’t go through them one by one.”

They don’t even know what the books are about yet but they’re more than happy to bust down a business’ doors and arrest the owners because some books have a palestinian flag. I swear to god I hope these people experience only misery for the rest of their, hopefully short, lives.

  • Literally city people really just want to see some trees on the sidewalk, some flowerbeds, and have a few little parks here and there with only a couple big community parks to be able to have picnic or whatever.

Look up Verdun, Quebec(Montréal). There is absolutely massive park running along the Saint Laurence River for many kilometers and it’s fuckin’ awesome without getting in the way of the lovely, mid-density, walkable neighbourhood right beside it. It’s fuckin’ sick. That and Parc Angrignon, too!

Anyway the point is that you could not be more wrong.

  • My favourite three:

    1. Migrants feed the US. He’s scaring them all off from going to work or physically removing them without any system to have anyone replace them.

    2. He’s trying to scare us here in Canada with tariffs. We also supply them a bunch of crude oil and potash(for farming) and they’d be in shit without us. Lumber, too, I think.

    3. He’s threatening companies like TSMC with tariffs on semi-conductors and then saying that if they make stuff in the US they won’t need to pay extra. But right away it’s obvious that he needs them more they need him, and the money will still just go to foreign executives at the end of the day.

He’s so bad at making deals, so bad at putting himself in advantageous positions. It’s mind-boggling that there are people who can’t see that.

  • And, failing that, if the US doesn’t like all these refugees they should maybe not cancel USAID to help develop other nations and keep those people there! And maybe all those palestinian refugees wouldn’t have had to leave their homes without the US giving the IDF a bunch of weapons.

The US loves to position itself as THE place to be while destabilizing as muchbof the world as possible and then bitches when people show up asking for somewhere safe to stay. So many of these people don’t want to have to leave their homes in the first damn place!
