1·2 months agoWhich version did this happen in?
2.3.0, according to their new website, though I found out about it at a much later version.

3·2 months agoThe latest pre-libadwaita version of Gajim is 2.2.0, I don’t think there were any problems with that version.
It also locks up whenever we try dragging a picture into the chat window to send.
I remember that Gajim installed from Flatpak wouldn’t allow drag’n’drop functionality at all.

11·2 months agoBefore the June update Gajim wasn’t related to GNOME at all and worked perfectly fine on my Xfce desktop. The update fully switched to GTK4 + libadwaita, and they also redesigned their website to look exactly like GNOME’s.
I suppose they changed their design direction…

10·2 months agoYeah that’s exactly it.
Gtk3 is considered legacy now
Cinnamon and Xfce still exist though. It’s not like gtk3 is suddenly out of use.

11·2 months agoThere aren’t really any good clients for XMPP unfortunately. I’m just moving away to Matrix (ironically the one I avoided because it didn’t have good clients when I looked into IMs).

3·2 months agoAnother type is games that start off as the first type but then turn into fucking hell with no warning. Nuclear Throne, I’m looking at YOU!

1·3 months agoWell, I did post one a month ago in [email protected] but yeah, I mostly post them in the Tavern. Posting them on Lemmy usually takes some effort since I try to make the posts approachable for those who aren’t familiar with crawl in its current version so I often just don’t do it at all.

Gaming@lemmy.world•[UFO 50] Planet Zoldath is the most evil game in the collectionEnglish
2·3 months agoI find Zoldath similar to Nethack in a way - all these hidden interactions, quick and often hilarious deaths, and lots of procgen of course. Edit: Planet Zoldath was released in 1984, the same year as the release of Hack on Usenet.
On an unrelated note, the “I wanna be the guy” dev have their personal website at kayin.moe where they often posts about indie games. I found this blog pretty cool. There are also a few posts about UFO 50.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you have any ideas on how to attract people from centralized platforms to such as lemmy?English
2·4 months agoI mean, if we could have as much content diversity as Reddit it would be great. But we don’t. “More of everything else” will inevitably come at a cost of the quantity of political stuff.
With that said, Lemmy has so much western politics that you won’t even notice if a quarter of it would suddenly disappear.

Gaming@lemmy.world•When I was a child I thought as a child...English
1·4 months agoFor me immersion depends more on sound design than on visuals.
Infra Arcana, the game that looks like this (screenshot’s not mine):

It is among the most immersive horror experiences for me. I still clearly remember walking down a long empty corridor, stumbling upon a door at the end of it, and when I approached the door something behind it started banging - it was so fucking scary!

3·4 months agoI’ve dealt with enough people who think their preferences are absolute that I just couldn’t be sure whether you’re one of them or not. I’m glad we agree that art is subjective.

1·4 months agoJust because you personally dislike certain art style doesn’t make it objectively bad. I’m a zoomer, I don’t have nostalgia for pixel graphics and yet I enjoy pixel art. I can’t stand CRT filters on pixel games (modern or emulated) btw.

From the photos UFO 50 Companion seems good - nice illustrations and all? I doubt there’s much information on games because that’d ruin them!
