Technology@lemmy.world•Windows 11’s 2025 problems are getting impossible to ignoreEnglish
8·19 days agoI think for most of us that use and understand Linux, it has been better for a while.
It hasn’t been very long since Linux has been better for your average, non techy users.
I believe it’s called a joke
Remember when windows phone was the iPhone killer?
The downvote ratio tells you you’re being ignorant. That’s literally it.

Technology@lemmy.world•Article: I switched to eSIM in 2025, and I am full of regretEnglish
4·22 days agoThat’s odd, I just swapped phones. Old phone was eSIM, it literally couldn’t have been easier.
Well that’s fucking stupid. Basically teaching people they might as well drive home drunk.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•In a way, a gift card is kind of the opposite of a credit card
8·24 days agoThe house wins as a whole, sure.
But on an individual level, if you are smart about it you’ll spend less than you would with other payment methods.

5·24 days agoYou mean less money right? Most credit cards give you 1-2% back.

1·29 days agoI’d never even heard of that language, so it was fun to play with.
Definitely agree that the LLM didn’t actually figure anything out, but at least it’s not completely useless

2·29 days agoCheeky, I love it.
Got correct code first try. Failed creating working docker first try. Second try worked.

3·29 days agoWhat’s your preferred Hello world language? I’m gunna test this out. The more complex the code you need, the more they suck, but I’ll be amazed if it doesn’t work first try to simply print hello world.
It’s definitely regional. McDonald’s is about half the price of a restaurant burger where I’m at.

7·2 months agoI see SO much cloudflare stuff on here, I have to believe they are ads/astroturfing. I can’t understand why so many self-hosting people would tie their services to them. In my mind it completely defeats the point to self hosting in the first place.
