Being able to live with yourself feels much better than always trying to hide from your own misdeeds.

You’ve got to watch that impulse. Anyone can have it, and things never go as you expect.

The problem with the Democratic Party is it’s full of Republicans.

They don’t have time to comment because they’re too busy with their new jobs at ICE.

You can also set up local AI alerts (AI here is mostly used for facial recognition) e.g. to alert you if your MIL comes around uninvited, or if your kids sneak out at 2am, and so on.
That sounds awful. I’d rather just not, and avoid that mindset altogether.

I think they enjoy it.

Don’t buy anything from Amazon.

Not to mention that Trump keeps directly threatening Canada and declaring his intention to annex (seize, invade, occupy) the country. To make propaganda for the US regime in this situation is treasonous.

I think it refers to helping ICE “build trust” with the public - in other words, they want to be paid to produce propaganda for ICE.

If it does happen in front of them, people like that will think the victim must have deserved it because “they’re only going after the criminals.” And they’ll stick with this until it happens to them, whereupon they’ll think they’re the unique and first example of injustice and mistreatment of someone who didn’t deserve it.

Oh dear. They’re still attempting appeasement. Surely if we give him the Sudetenland military bases he’ll see that we’re being reasonable and stop there.

We need to figure out how a smallish, largely unarmed population could make a large, heavily armed force wish they had never met us.

Can someone just give him some kind of VR video game and tell him he’s in the control room of a real invasion?

Maybe someone told him it was all white and inadvertently made it appealing to him.
Oh, and you can count on Trump to keep a promise, right?
Anyway, I don’t even see a pledge. I see a dishonest expression of regret:
“I don’t want to use force. I won’t use force,” Trump said in a speech to government and business leaders in Davos. “Now everyone’s saying, ‘Oh good.’”
That’s the energy of an abusive partner: “I don’t want to hurt you, but you’re giving me no option here.” It’s how they settle their conscience right before they hurt you.
It’s astonishing how many organizations are still using it for their official communications when there are ready alternatives.
