I bet you it’s every minute too.
I bet you it’s every minute too.
I’m sad to hear this because I really like Manning. You’re might be right though.
Yeah, I wasn’t taught this in french class, hardly anyone is. idk why. My teacher told me about it after class when I asked about it.
In the infinitive, ne pas verb is the correct order.
It’s not exactly the same as Musk’s (doesn’t thump his heart first) – which is probably the point. Trying to sneak in more completely implausible “plausible deniability.” Nobody’s fooled. It looks like a duck, it’s a duck.
I don’t like it. Might be accurate, but it brings to mind “feminazis” a usage which undermines the usage of nazi as a suffix. Even though “Zionazi” wouldn’t be undermining it on its own, the precedent ruins it. “Zionist Nazi” is better IMO.
I’m a woman. Yeah it’s bothered me my whole life. I used to be really angry about it. Now I just accept it as the status quo. In the last few paragraphs of your post you are basically describing the Smurfette Principle, Two Girls to a Team, and other tropes. Also the Bechdel test.
I heartily recommend Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Season 1 is rough, but it’s got good gender equality.
Nowadays though, you get a lot more racial diversity on western TV than you used to. I think that’s something which has improved quite a lot.
Sometimes I do get what they mean though when there are women or other minorities when coupled with bad writing. I can kind of understand why people complain about “woke” media when I see shows like Supergirl or Star Wars: The Adept. Meanwhile, - Andor, Rogue One, Alien are great and have diversity, and people don’t complain about these being “woke” so much. So, I guess, shitty writing can score an own-goal.
What are some major relevant events that were predicted but haven’t happened yet?
Oh I agree. I wish software was not so dumbed down these days. Still, you have to admit they’ve gotten pretty far, as it were.
You will not get very far with calling people stupid.
On the contrary. This is why most companies try to make their UXs foolproof. It’s the general wisdom of engineers to assume that the user is stupid. It is this sense in which I mean “people are stupid,” not something directed at anyone in particular.
There are other human requirements too, but it’s only landlords that get the bad press.
Monkey paw, there are no landlords – now almost nobody can afford to live anywhere. For this reason, shouldn’t one blame the housing market (and all its participants) as a whole, not just the ones who rent out their properties?
Of course, if we can socialize housing, or at least require that if you own a house you must live in it, that would be the best. But in the meantime, I don’t really see the objective problem that landlords specifically are causing, they seem to be doing a service to everyone as far as I can tell. I blame the high price of housing instead.
Okay, but “ACAB” makes sense because even the “good” cops enable the bad system. But how does ALAB make sense? The good landlords are just… good landlords. The landlord performs a useful service by buying and renting out the property which would be too expensive for renters to otherwise have access to. Obviously things would be better if there weren’t a need for landlords, but that’s hardly the fault of the landlord. What exactly is the (good) landlord doing that is enabling a bad system overall?
What I’ve learned over the past five years is that you have to be very careful with this kind of mandate, or it will make people despise and doubt your whole organization. I actually think that this kind of warning label will increase the amount of cancer people get, because they’ll start smoking cigarettes again, which are much worse.
Edit: To clarify, the reason people would start smoking cigarettes is not because it’s an alternative to alcohol; it’s because they would lose faith in health and safety warnings altogether. It’s stupid, but people are stupid.
I personally think it’s capitalism that’s to blame, not landlords. I have generally been lucky with having nice landlords though, who aren’t bastards.
Regarding #5, he’s explicitly expansionist by his own admission, and he’s already limiting the rights of transgender people, and deporting immigrants. Not sure it’s at Hitler levels quite yet, but jesus christ.
Adoption, in many cases, contributes to a situation where pregnant people are coerced into giving up their child. It’s a problem most people don’t want to hear about, though, like most problems primarily faced by women.
Not all cases though. So project 2025 is going to be pretty damaging even in this area.
