You literally said you would get downvoted for it. You outed yourself as a troll from the beginning and again with your “doxxing” joke. The system is working as intended.

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that Apple makes millions of dollars with personalized advertising. If you have an iPhone or iPad, you should turn it off.
3·2 months agoI know it’s ironic, but buy a Pixel for your next phone(1) and use GrapheneOS. It sandboxes all of the Google stuff so it can’t track you across the device, only within the sandboxed app or service itself. Chances are all of your financial apps will still work (mine did including Paypal, the pickiest by far) and the only downside I experienced was less than ideal keyboard error correction and complicated voice-to-text setup (required a third party voice recog service since Google’s didn’t exist in GrapheneOS).
(1) Don’t buy it new, get one from Swappa or the equivalent trusted used phone marketplace in your country.

Interesting, Super Castlevania is a 16-bit game, and in RotN Miriam moves much more fluidly and easily than Belmont in SC.
Are you sure you aren’t confusing Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night with Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon? The former is as fluid as SotN, if not more so. The latter is meant to emulate the stiff movement of the original 8-bit Castlevania games.
Yep, Haven is supernatural while the book is not. It’s more about using the mystery of the book to create a whole different (but really intriguing and King-like) world. They are both good in their own way.
For a good murder mystery without the horror try The Colorado Kid. Then watch the show Haven that is loosely based on it.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How long can someone physically walk for?
37·5 months agoIt’s been theorized that human beings’ ability to walk or jog long distances is what brought us out of our primitive era and made us the most advanced species on the planet.

8·5 months agoAoostar makes some really great tiny NAS devices based on the Intel N100/N150 series, and they also have an AMD unit if that’s your jam (it’s mine). If you buy the one with built in main storage it comes with Windows 11 Pro installed but you can wipe that and install Linux or a dedicated NAS OS if you wish. Or just save money and throw a NVMe SSD in for the OS and a bunch of HDDs for media and go to town.
The best part is you can buy direct from Aoostar, no need to buy from Amazon though they are offered there too.

I also like UGREEN’s NAS offerings, they come with their own custom NAS OS that supports Docker so you can run all your *arrs and Jellyfin and other server apps as containers. The web-based interface is like using a normal Linux or macOS desktop.
See you on the high seas, matey.

News@lemmy.world•JD Vance suggests trans people pose a “domestic terrorist threat” & FBI plans to target trans people - LGBTQ Nation
6·5 months agoApple has already said they can scan your device, using on-device hardware and software, for CSAM and report that to the FBI. Yes, CSAM is bad and shouldn’t exist, but today it’s just CSAM that’s illegal and reported, tomorrow it will be the fact that one is LGBTQ+ or anti-fascist. They said they decided not to do it, but can you really trust them?
No amount of E2E encryption will protect you from an on-device spy that can scan and upload what is sitting on your phone every time you unlock it and therefore decrypt it. Your data has to be decrypted for you to interact with it, E2E only protects you when your device is in your adversary’s hands.
From your other posts you seem to be knowledgeable about security and privacy, how is it that you are turning a blind eye to this well known “feature” of Apple devices and just trusting their word that it isn’t enabled? Why are you so bent on propping up Apple as a secure platform when it’s so glaringly obvious they can’t be trusted with your data?

13·5 months agoI will never understand why anyone trusts a corporation who has proven time and again to spy on their own users and report back to the government, even before Trump was on the scene. I guess Cypher was right, ignorance is bliss.

33·5 months agoIt’s already been proven that not only can Apple decrypt some of your data, they are more than willing to hand it over. They are a willing tool in the government’s quest to oppress society.

Fuck that noise, Apple is already firmly in the pocket of the orange fascist. They are no longer safe and are now a threat to privacy and safety. I would bet my entire existence they are already handing over data on anyone not straight white Christofascist.
I adore your optimism, but sadly I don’t share it. There won’t be a presidential election in 2028.
The park itself is actually really nice they just need to remove the awful mural. I don’t care if they leave it blank or replace it with a carving honoring Native Americans but it needs to go.

It’s not just that it was useless to some people, it was a genuine security risk. OpenBSD’s port of Firefox has it disabled by default, and LibreWolf strips it out of the browser entirely.

Fennec is the closest thing to a mobile version of Librewolf. It doesn’t have all the privacy and security tweaks as Librewolf but it’s far better than mobile Firefox.
There’s also Firefox Focus but it’s more difficult to use as a main browser since it defaults to wiping all traces of history and settings after each session.
