As a european working in the weapon industry, I love reading american people thinking we make no weapons or the weapons we make are worse.

Individuals have to also take action, and keep pressure on the people who are supposed to be preventing these abuses.

Despite everything, the odds of being in an airplane accident are still extremely low.

That’s largely because of the safety systems in place. Remove those and safety (along with aircraft) plummets.

But maybe he has better help, so we can’t even rely on his incompetence

What he has this time is no “adults in the room” to act as guardrails. He’s surrounded himself with sycophants and yes-men, so there’s nobody to stop him from flailing randomly and breaking shit.

Breaking shit is easy (and fast and cheap). A dumb bull in a China shop can cause a lot of damage in seconds without even trying.

Building or repairing things takes skill and a lot of time and money.

Obama is less bad than those on either side of him, but his admin at best still represents stagnation, as he failed to address Bush’s crimes

Just a reminder that it’s a lot faster, easier and cheaper to break things than it is to build or repair them. A “bull in a China shop” like Trump can do a lot of damage in a few seconds, but it takes years to repair.

Bush had 8 years to cause the damage he caused, it’s not reasonable to expect the next administration to fix all that in the same amount of time, no matter how well intentioned and capable that president is.

Same with Trump1-> Biden.

And then you add in obstructionists in congress and senate slowing the process of repair.

Personally, I never saw the appeal of TikTok anyway.

Then again I also was never interested in Twitter.

I guess my attention span isn’t short enough for that type of sites.
