Ah, and there I was, trying to download horse porn and ending up with Halo 3 😅

why didn’t we have 8 billion people a thousand years ago when we had all the solar, wind, and renewable energy we have now?
Because…power delivery and storage is also a thing? Like, electricity, and batteries? Which make renewable energy way more accessible. Ever heard of electric cars?
While cheap energy certainly played a huge role, medicine and other technology play an equal part.
They also kinda had fossil fuels back then, oil could be found on the surface. Why didn’t have the Romans a billion population, when they could find oil on the surface?
I get the same feeling, like, as if three letter agencies from all over the world start targeting your server specifically in 300 ms.
What happens is, yes, your server is immediately bombarded by ScriptKiddies from all over the world, and if you set up root SSH with hunter2 as password, that thing is taken over immediately. But if you only allow keyfile SSH you’re 98% there already ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Then they find this chip, but cannot decipher it, because they don’t understand mathematics not able to divide by 0 😅.

Let me tell you: every parent thinks they’re going to be this awesome parent, not like aaaaaall the other bad parents out there.
Turns out: that battle plan does not survive first contact with your child. Every parent feels like they let their former self down in their aspiration of being a good parent.
Needless to say: it’s not hard to skip shitty AI toys though.

3·21 days agoAll config with docker is the same, so basically every service is kind of maintained and especially backuped the same.
Plus, config is just files. If the server is dead, copy volumes and compose files to new machines, two commands, all services up again. No difference in how to deploy some services.

TBH I was in the same boat, and finally went usenet when they rised the prices for all that streaming shit across the board, once again. Took me one afternoon to figure out.
I’d like to torrent, it’s morally more piratey, as in “if I pirate already, then it should be totally free”, but the usenet experience just is so much cleaner. And now I still pay, but like 30ish € per year and have no headache anymore and basically all the streaming services at my fingertips.
