Now that’s love. A little dark, but honest.

I mean, you need to give more context. Some people flip their fashion style overnight, what’s to stop them from impulse buying the death pill after a breakup ?

Technology@lemmy.world•Cars are like horses: people will soon realise EVs are just better, claims VW bossEnglish
1·4 days agoI’m sure They’re reliably, but like any car, anything can go wrong with them. That’s why historically a Toyota is much more reliable than a Buick. Its not written down in a spec sheet. It is how well does it do in the real world. I made my original comment because i personally know someone who’s electric car died one week past the standard warranty. Now they are In a world of financial pain with a dead two year old car that they are still making payments on. That’s not something to lol about. It’s a real problem.

2·4 days agoNot sure I follow your intent of the post. Please allow Me to give some background. The battery has a good chance of dying early, even after the warranty period. Which makes the average cost of the car very expensive

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL: Stretching probably doesn't reduce injuryEnglish
4·3 months agoIt is both. Stretching is a kind process that prepares both your mind and your body for the work is coming ahead. It is absolutely necessary to get your body to produce the maximum output. It’s like having a small cup of tea before you force your heart rate to 190 (short of a heart attack,) Someone else mentioned , you have to warm up, then stretch. Then workout, then stretch as a cooldowm to achieve fficiency.

3·5 months agoThe american companies are ok with it because of capitalism. The executive team gets a generous salary, bonus. Or they believe that they are ok with giving away decades worth of engineering research and development for cheap labor, and that at the arms race American engineering will always be one step ahead, so they will never lose market share.

4·5 months agoBut it’s true. The standard Chinese model is to steal all IP, from all tech that they do not yet control. They use cheap labor to import all manufacturing from developed countries. Then, they steal the IP and turn around and make it theirs. That’s how they’ve caught up so fast from a closed out isolated farming hermit for decades, into a modern powerhouse that wants to take over the world.
I’m not defending Mcds , but everyone can choose to eat whatever they want. Everyone has fast food of any kind everywhere,. It’s not my place to judge whether they eat it or not. You never hung out with your friends at a fast food joint because that’s what you could all afford at the time ?
I think the spirit of the post is that all fast food horribly shifted to being terrible in the last decade. Mcds happens to be one of the most prominent ones. KFC is cardboard now, Chinese food containers are now half of what they used to be. A Korean fried chicken place cut the wings in two and called them separate pieces, so you have two buy two now to get the same amount of chicken as before. With the smaller portion , the price has gone up 50% across the board.
Maybe some countries have not seen their food quality and price shift so quickly, but in Corporate America, consumers are getting squeezed like never before. The dollar has lost 50% spending power everywhere in America.
One of my favorite local takeout lobster sandwiches used to be $17 less than 10 years ago, now it’s $40, and it’s the same size as before.
I think it’s more like a young uncle joke, brother to the divorced dad.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•‘I Can’t Drink the Water’ – Life Next to a US Data Centre
21·10 months agoWrong comment young bro. People may not have the assets to move. This could be their childhood neighborhood, and they can’t move and all of a sudden Meta bribed the local leadership to build a fucking huge data center and then the locals are F’ed
Wait. That’s a different problem than hot water just from my basement. The basement is slow, but has nothing to do with neighbors. I think we live in different countries.
Nice punchline from the derivative.

Prometheus is the equivalent of a chicken tent. Wow. Isn’t this what Pablo Escobar did in the early days of the drug trade? Is there some association there to modern times?
