The board game is amazing. Really cool asymmetric mechanics, which really strongly tie into the theme.
I’d be pretty interested to see how this compares with Defenders Of The Wild Almanac - there’s a bit of theme overlap.

naught101@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•The signatures are still coming and it's already making an impactEnglish1·3 days agoPretty sure it was so publishers (printing press owners) could have a guaranteed profit. Those two things (publisher and artist profits) were correlated at the time. Not so much anymore. Streaming/subscription mentality is like planned obsolescence for IP.

Yes, I understood the joke…
For the parents, I assume?
Personally I think @[email protected]’s take is a bit prescriptive, but I do think that if you want a good long-term relationship, then it’s about finding what’s comfortable for both of you, not just for one of you. Boundary pushing can be OK, but usually only with prior consent or better some expression of desire… If either one of you pushes the other into doing something the other doesn’t really want, that’s probably not gonna pan out well in the long run. Listening (especially to the “why” part) and working together is important.
Is there any situation for which a fart is not a perfect metaphor?
Like, with the parents listening, or with them reciting it with you?
Tomorrow: rains of fish
I mean… In some ways maybe that is not worse. Perhaps there is some shame associated with working for ICE.
Perhaps the only valid use for glitter
The thing that I don’t get about those people is, what do they think the “well regulated” part means?
Eh, I’ve come to love it. Life is messy. Complexity is everywhere, and understanding of anything interesting or meaningful is always partial. Language limits (or influences) what you are able to think clearly about, so why not just let language be unlimited?
To me, this take aligns with the Japanese concept of Wabi-sabi, which is about finding beauty in imperfection and decay… Kind of a guiding aesthetic for me.
naught101@lemmy.worldto Fediverse@lemmy.world•! Mastodon new ToS from July 1 has a binding Arbitration waiver* !!rEnglish20·22 days agoAnd/or (i suspect this is more likely) it will threaten to do so, and mastodon.social/.online will update their TOS to fix the problem identified in the bug report. Either way it’s a win for federation, in that migration is relatively painless for the user…
I’m also really appreciating the speed and depth of the response to this from the community (e.g. all the comments on the bug report). It’s cool to see!
edit: Also, Eugene’s response is reasonable and levelheaded - seems like there will be some TOS improvements eventually.
