Maintain critical infrastructure as long as possible: Focus on quality of life: If the timeline is inevitable, prioritize reducing suffering and maintaining dignity. This means ensuring access to medical care, food security, and emotional support for people during the collapse. Build sustainable communities: Establish smaller, more resilient communities that can function independently. Document everything: Prepare for gradual rather than sudden collapse: Most population collapses happen over decades or centuries, not overnight. Use that time to make the transition as humane as possible and to set up whatever foundation might enable recovery.
