Self hosting is all about Digital Autonomy; that’s just not possible with a windows OS.

Apart from that it would just make your life harder, as the vast majority of documentation and tutorials and helper scripts are based on some linux like OS.

It enters the realm of mis-, even disinformation when true statements that contradict a narrative are actively repressed.

Selective truth can easily be a lie.

Proxmox helper scripts - at least the ones i use - come with a tag updateable. Those tagged have a command update that runs everything necessary on containers, VMs whatever.

Makes life simple, mostly.

The only manual interaction I’ve had was upgrading some VMs Debian from 12 to 13.

I’m happy with vaultwarden doing this for me.

integrate it with #flohmarkt (and the fediverse in general) and you don’t need to reinvent the wheel :-)
