IMO it is a big deal, and you’re right to care.

Most obviously, and most importantly, this is a big deal because it excludes people who may require the subtitles in order to watch the show.

But it also points to some sort of speech to tech automation being used and then not checked by a human. Which implies poor quality control and a reliance on machine learning instead of employing someone.

If it was BlueSky forcing sign in, I would agree. But this is giving the user control of their own posts. I don’t really see a problem with it tbh.

When I land, I just sit there for a bit and let everyone else get all hot and sweaty trying to get their carry on luggage first and get off the plane first. There’s no real rush, and if you have checked in luggage in the hold you’re going to be waiting for that anyway.
