Same complaint. Reddit posts with 100s or 1000s of replies were mostly a few good comments drowning in spam.

sloppychops@lemmy.cato FFXIV@lemmy.world•Patch 7.2 Notes (Preliminary) | FINAL FANTASY XIV, The LodestoneEnglish2·3 months ago‘Bumbling about’ gave me a chuckle. My assumption is that she’s been in cold storage while ChatGPT has been piloting the bot and for some reason the fridge got unplugged.
New jog and mount while moving sound neat. Can’t wait to yeet people off a cliff as PLD in PvP.

That’s the problem with ‘deplatforming.’
The crazies migrate to another platform and then that platform gets bigger and crazier and perhaps eventually competes with the original, more mainstream platforms.

The crazy conspiracy guy I know uses Brave, so that already put me off.

sloppychops@lemmy.cato Fediverse@lemmy.world•Internet forums are disappearing because now everything is Reddit and Discord. And that's worrying.English6·3 months agoTry DeepL. It’s the superior translation app, as far as I’m concerned. Based in the EU, I believe.

In saying that though; there is natural beauty everywhere you look in the world and it’s very easy, and often cheaper to go elsewhere.

sloppychops@lemmy.cato News@lemmy.world•20% of Americans support boycott of firms aligning themselves with Trump agendaEnglish4·4 months agoI wonder if there’s a way to block AWS? I’ve no idea how these things work, but surely there’s some sort of signature that is readable and therefore blockable?
sloppychops@lemmy.cato News@lemmy.world•20% of Americans support boycott of firms aligning themselves with Trump agendaEnglish5·4 months agoIt’s the worst. Avoiding Pepsi, Coke, Nestlé seems impossible sometimes. I had to give up the masala chips that I like because it turns out they’re a Pepsi front. Why are they allowed to just buy up everything?
sloppychops@lemmy.cato People Twitter@sh.itjust.works•An ethics professor at Cambridge talks about teaching ethics in 2025English2·4 months agoI can’t help but be struck at how cowardly ‘moral relativism’ seems. Yes, you could potentially offend or step on someone’s toes if you express moral outrage at the practice of childhood genital mutiliation, for example, but are you truly opposed if you are willing to contextualise said opposition? If you have a strong moral objection to something, then have a strong moral objection.
There are 8 billion people, and not all of them are going to or have to agree with you. There’s absolutely no need to play the chameleon to keep everyone happy.
If your moral objection to something isn’t universal, then it isn’t an objection.

Dancing frog man is top tier. I’m wondering how that’s gonna play out in savage. The music changing with the attacks is crazy good.
