The librarians I’ve talked to simply don’t know how any of this works. I’ve been told 3 times (the 3rd one today) that epub version of books are not available. Today it was a “trained computer aid that offers technology assistance” saying the epub format I download just last week is not available from the library.
Define cheap. 11" Dell 3140’s in like new condition with Intel N200 processors, 8GB RAM, wifi, SSD and a decent keyboard have been coming up on Ebay and Woot every few weeks for $170 or so. Debian 12 detects all hardware immediately on installation.

The first article was published 2 months after Biden took office and says that his “administration has reversed a policy of turning away unaccompanied children at the border, instead opting to process them and place them with sponsoring families in the US.” That takes time to set up even in emergency situations.
The second article referred to children detained between June 2018 and October 2020, not during the Biden administration.
Neither article says anything about present day detentions, or detentions taking place later in Biden’s term.

Overdrive’s being phased out and being replaced by Libby according to the 2 libraries I frequent. I wonder if it will still be supported on Kobo OS once the website and apps are shut down?
It’s not just Amazon. Libraries (and Libby, the app they use) are also making it difficult to do anything but read in a browser or use Kindle.
It allows any device to cast music to pretty much any other device that supports Spotify, whether via phone app, browser or Linux app. I have a couple of small computers connected to receivers in different rooms and can control the music playing on them from the attached PC itself or any other PC or phone.
Looked at that and think it will be an option in the near future, but right now Raspotify and Connect are hard to beat.
Edit: Searching a bit more, it looks like Tidal Connect is actually a thing. I’ll take a good look at switching when my Spotify plan runs out. I’ll be happy to switch to a service that doesn’t screw their artists.

United Heath would routinely deny payment for the entire visit if my doctor did anything besides look at the initial issue during an appointment. Let’s say I was there for ear pain and my doc said I was due for a vaccination, UHC would deny payment for everything. Since making a second appointment for the vaccination was far more expensive, the only possible reason for this was that a certain percentage of people would pay the bill and United Health could just steal from them and pocket the money.
I spent many hours on the phone after doctor visits demanding they pay the bills as my policy’s contract required. I wonder how much the UHC crooks made because of the people who just paid the doctor bills and UHC was able to steal money they didn’t earn?
