  • There would be a ton of local variety since a large number of different tribes and societies had varying access to local fauna and game, plus trade. Think of the variety we have from Canada to Argentina and that is likely a comparable range to the wildly different native populations. Food near the great lakes would be completely different from food in the tropics and completely different from the foods in the mountains of the southern continent with a ton of variety in between.

Kind of like the massive variety in the continent of Africa.

  • Immigration could happen the legal way if we funded and staffed the agency that processes immigration.

Republicans have opposed funding for processing immigration for decades and imposed caps on the number of people who can immigrate each year. A bill to increase funding and staffing that gave Republicans what they wanted last fall was tanked by Republicans because it would look bad for them right before the election. There was already a staffing shortage, and the recent wave of firings increased the shortage.

We only have a problem because the problem was intentionally created.

  • It’s fundamentally different, and there are many examples of societies like that in history.

Lynchings were society enforcing their will collectively without an authoritarian structure. Lynchings were often (but not always) opposed by authorities who wanted a trial, even if the trial was likely to be a sham.

Black Panthers were the opposite, a community defense that was organized as a response to the abuses of those with authority. Basically the opposite of the groups that committed lynchings.

Being decentralized doesn’t solve the problems of centralized authority without being a tradeoff for the problems of a lack of authority. Both require a society that stands behind whichever approach is chosen and holds people accountable for abusing the social contract. Decentralized might even be better, but it isn’t a panacea.

What historical societies had little to no authority without running into issues with malicious actors?

  • I don’t actively discriminate based on a poster’s instance, but there are a half dozen or so instances where there is a very high likelihood that they lean one way or another on different topics. If a post that could be read two ways then their instance can be a pretty reliable indicator that looking at their posting history will confirm which way they lean.

In a couple of cases I just blocked the communities that are the hot button issues for that instance because other communities are worth reading and interacting with.

That is how I picture they would look in a live action adaptation. It is hard to look at them.

Like if the noses were the same as the skin tones or slightly darker it would look great to me because they are so expressive, but the seemingly glued on noses is a dealbreaker.

Historical nazis? Like the ones from the 1920s-1945? Maybe. I’m unclear how many of them knew what being nazis actually meant. Like, the average nazi soldier in some 1942 battle. Does he know about jews dying? Does he know the things the nazis stand for? I’m not saying yes or no, because I legit don’t know. I find it hard to believe that millions of soldiers all knew, and still went along with it.

Fuck off with that nazi apologist bullshit. The whole nazi party ideology was based on hating minorities and blaming them for Germany’s economic and social ills. Who fucking cares about the details, the whole party was hate filled rage bait just like modern Republicans.
