No I am not calling it generic. I’m just saying the book is so iconic and so copied that coming to it for the first time today feels like I’ve already read books and played video games that are like this. It’s not a fault of the work, it’s just that it’s hard for it to feel fresh today.

I am currently reading Neuromancer by William Gibson. This novel is often credited with starting the cyberpunk genre. It’s a novel that is so iconic that when you read it today, it feels a little generic. If I didn’t know the history, I would say someone wrote a book version of Cyberpunk 2077. It is interesting because he actually uses real life brands, instead of being forced to invent brands for the book (like what Cyberpunk 2077 did).

The proletariat don’t need to learn theory if they get to class consciousness organically.

While killing them would be progress, the real need is a revolution.

We all are the bad guy at some point but you always have the opportunity to let that go.

The way the US centric world works, you kinda have to, or you risk inviting the US trying to spread “freedom”

And the conflicts that do happen, happen at the behest the US and in the interest of US corporations. And the US has control over the narrative surrounding the conflict.

You don’t have to be so defensive. I’m not criticizing you personally.

China hasn’t tried to expand or colonize anyone in my lifetime. America has some so numerous times. Maybe stop being so defensive and look at history without your America colored glasses.

The point I’m trying to make is America likes war a lot. China hasn’t fought a war in 50 years. It’s hard to take Americans seriously when they accuse someone of being aggressive.

America has engaged in war the majority of the post world war 2 era. Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan twice, Iraq twice. And that’s not including all the proxy wars they’ve funded.
