It is likely compressed using some AI tool before saving on their servers.
“then” is used to depict time, sequence or a causal relationship. “than” is used with comparative adjectives, to depict comparison.

3·25 days agoI have got 3 maybe-babies lying in my fridge rn.
I too have been getting too less sunlight exposure and too much cigarette smoke exposure whenever I get out.
Perhaps I should check if a relevant blood test is available here.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•OpenAI stole research out from under mathematicians' noses and now suddenly all the STEM bros are very hot and botheredEnglish
1·25 days agothe people most critical of AI have been those that trained their own one at home for fun
I wish this applied to me, but I never got any ideas to have fun with AI and there were enough things more interesting that I couldn’t get the time. And now, I don’t have the computing power to make any significant thing.

0·26 days agoI tried it a few times and it didn’t fit well.
A colleague of mine uses it extensively.
In both our cases, it was KDE.
Usage of animal rennet requires disclosure on the packaging, in my country, thanks to a majority of religions being against meat and stuff.

1·27 days agoiirc, basics of general relativity was taught in high school and the speed of information was explained by the teacher.
For some reason, the NCERT website seems to be down rn, so I can’t recheck.

Technology@lemmy.world•Tesla’s Cybercab has been deployed, and it’s already under investigationEnglish
0·29 days agohas been deployed … already under investigation.
Is “already” really the word to use.
Don’t vehicles need the investigation being done before getting on the road?
I’d say the investigation started a bit too late.
Yeah. No need for editing in post.
Just have a camera with lower static range and choose the required white-balance.

Work Reform@lemmy.world•Minimum wage isn't survivable anymoreEnglish
0·29 days agoYeah.
Thanks to the income/expense situation being a little bit less unbalanced over here.
Also thanks to the relative ease there is, to get politicians to implement work reform, as compared to the US (not that any of the work reform laws would apply to me).

1·1 month agoI just did the math and I don’t get even $15/hr.
Glad that my transportation cost is under $25 and rent is 6x less than that value.
Oh, and food costs are 1/3 of that, as long as I cook myself. But yeah, getting anything imported, would hurt the bank balance.

0·1 month agoThat was the year when we were taught of the speed of light and the specific question might have been at the end of the same chapter in the text book.
Somehow I had a vague feeling that the effect of turning on the switch should not reach the light instantly. It was much later, that I found out how it was related to the absolute speed of information that is available in current theory.
Note, that I hadn’t used the internet as much back then and it was much later, that I started diving into Wikipedia. On the other hand, teachers are supposed to be university graduates themselves, so considering that I had the answer to that question by 12th, I would expect the teacher to at least be able to correctly answer that.

0·1 month agoNow that I think about it, it might have used “instantaneous”, so my fault would have been just that I didn’t know the difference vs “instant” :P.
But then again, that would partially be the teacher’s fault for not pointing that out when I raised that question in class.

Linux@lemmy.ml•CERN Transitioning Industrial Computers To Debian After Being A Longtime RHEL InstitutionEnglish
2·1 month agoI initially followed on their plans for that thing and from what I remember, they were going to include the older ones too.
But I’d think they would at least be willing to do something trivial like a rebuild for a big name like CERN, if they just called ‘support’.
“trivial”, because it doesn’t require many expensive man-hours, just an additional entry in whatever batch build config they use.
While license and registration + taxes are not “car” problems and are actually a part of the solution, there is one more thing you can evade in my country.
Requiring bribes to traffic police.

3·1 month agoI was wondering if yumeship had some kind of character AI addon that image uploaders could add to their profile and that’s the AI this one was talking about.

Actually I was suggesting that the service having compressed it with some AI-based tool ironically made the scanner’s report correct.
The actual scanner was probably BS anyway and would have even flagged the original.
