True. I don’t spend as much time these days word processing as I used to, but I really should get around to downloading libre office.

I found that Pages and Numbers work just fine for me at home, and it comes included with my Mac. And if I’m truly desperate, Google Docs and Sheets are always a viable alternative.

There were times I felt the pacing lagged a little bit, but I thought it was fine for eye candy. I really liked the 2D Star Fox scenes and would love to get a short mini-series in that style.

I finished Dungeon Crawler Carl’s Gate of the Feral Gods over the weekend. While I enjoyed the first four books I’m looking forward to sinking my teeth into what other readers generally consider the more popular titles of the series.
In the meantime I’ve started reading Haruki Murakami’s The City and its Uncertain Walls while I wait for the remainder of the DCC books to become available at my library.

TMTG is also active in financial services, and the company announced US$2.5 billion in funding a year ago to invest in cryptocurrencies, one of Trump’s recent passions.
According to its filing, TMTG generated US$900,000 in revenue during the first quarter, a paltry amount for a company valued at US$2.47 billion on the stock market.
And suspiciously interesting,
TMTG said in December that it is merging with the American company TAE, which is developing nuclear fusion technology.

Claundering?

I’m surprised the Ask Jeeves brand never became an AI chatbot.

I finished 1Q84 Book 3 yesterday. The journey is finally over and I’m glad to have had some closure to the story. I found some aspects of the storytelling were a bit repetitive at times, but I’m still a fan of Murakami’s dreamlike storytelling nonetheless.
I found a copy of Dungeon Crawler Carl’s Doomsday Scenario at the library, so that’s next on the reading list this week.

*Cue They’re Taking the Hobbits to Isengard* 😎🥳🤘

We all knew it was coming, but what a time to pass the baton. Good luck, John.

I originally interpreted the lyrics as a view of commodified education where the prerequisite for a lot of jobs nowadays require a degree or two just to get past the AI review process.
I didn’t mean to come off as knocking the pursuit of higher education. I mean I probably deserve it quoting a Kanye song! My wife has applied for her Masters next year, and I’m looking into the process of upgrading my advanced diploma into a degree myself. It just makes me laugh with frustration at how the ladder for success keeps adding rungs the higher you climb it.

This sort of reminds me of that Kanye West School Spirit Skit about learning:
You keep it going man, you keep those books rolling
You pick up those books you’re going to read
And not remember, and you roll man
You get that associate’s degree, okay
Then you get your bachelor’s, then you get your master’s
Then you get your master’s masters
Then you get your doctorate
You go man, and then when everybody says quit
You show them those degrees man
When everybody says, "hey, you’re not working
“You’re not making any money”
You say, “look at my degrees and you look at my life
Yeah, I’m 52, so what?”
Hate all you want
But I’m smart, I’m so smart, and I’m in school
These guys are out here, huh
Making money all these ways, and I’m spending mine to be smart
You know why?
Because when I die, buddy
You know what’s gonna keep me warm?
That’s right, those degrees
There’s actually a term for this kind of behaviour. It’s called a desire path.

Imagine taking a deuce then getting into a rollover accident immediately afterwards!

That’s so interesting that the lore is created by a community, but even moreso that someone can actually author a work based on their contribution! Pretty interesting to see how far apart the first and last entries of the story were published. This is a rabbit hole I think I am ok skipping for now lol

Hold up. There’s more SCP content? Is there prerequisite reading that would’ve helped the story make more sense for me?

My guy, I’m sorry for your loss.

I finished There Is No Antimemetics Division by qntm last night. While the science fiction was cool, I had some difficulty because the timelines appeared to be jumping around. I guess it was thematic in the sense that our memories are/were incomplete similar to how a character might experience them in-story. I don’t read a whole lot of cosmic horror stuff, so the grandness of some of the descriptions felt different as though I were watching someone else play Shadow of the Colossus.
I’ve had 1Q84, Book 3 sitting on my desk begging and taunting me to finish it, so I might just get to that once and for all.
I use it pretty regularly at home, and haven’t seen anything that significant other than the premium templates being highlighted in the sidebar when you create a new document.
I did run into a scenario where you had the option to preview smart features while editing thereby showing you how it could be applicable in the immediate short term, but then annoyingly removed the data entered if you didn’t want to subscribe. Otherwise it works about the same as you’d come to expect the software to run.
