“And besides, there’s no reason to cry because all of this is nothing but a distraction from the Epstein files anyway. You know? Epstein? What do you mean, you never heard of him? You don’t follow American news?”

I’m waiting for the “it’s only a distraction from Epstein” people to be saying this in line to the gas chambers. “These camps are just a distraction from the Epstein files”.

Like, we know. But NOTHING is going to be done about Epstein until the power of the state is seized from the ruling class of pedophile capitalist. So, maybe, you can work with us on getting there first.

The “it’s just a distraction” crowd seems to think that if only we all focused on Epstein than somehow the current systems and powers would provide justice. To me it’s a means to justify their own inaction. A bit of denial that the systems of liberal democracy are not flawed. That we just need “focus” and we can fix it.

They won’t. They never will. They are designed from the ground up to protect every single pedophile in those files. ICE is not a “distraction” from Epstein. It is an EXTENSION of it. The powers of the pedophilic capitalist class are rounding up children dude. What do you think that means?

Edit: Your comment could have been sarcastic. So don’t take my annoyed rant personally. I’m just exhausted with the “it’s just a distraction” crowd.

I don’t think what you’re saying here is unfair. I will also point out that the intentions of troops matter little to their victims, which I think is really the point the meme is making.

        How I feel rn: 😮‍💨

        Yeah, me too. yea

I get that, but joining knowing full well you will probably kill someone or help others do that is still extremely fucked up, it wouldn’t happen if they saw us (people in the global south) as humans equal to them

People are capable of change. But until that change actually occurs we can’t live in a world in which we try to save them at the cost of other good people.

There is a difference between trying to change the average American and remove their reactionary ideas and an ICE agent. We should waste zero effort in caring about “saving” ICE. They are Nazis. And should be treated as such.

We are currently in the “shame” phase of ICE. We have quickly moved passed trying to use the liberal state to fight them. The Democratic party has made it clear they won’t. So now we are in the peaceful protest and shame phase.

When filming them becomes illegal. When insulting them is considered inciting violence. There will be no peaceful means left.

And we have arrived at that all but on paper. When the state declares these too as illegal acts. They will further be emboldened to brutalize us.

It is at that point that no means of resistance will remain that is nonviolent. But unfortunately, I think a lot of Americans won’t realize this until many well intentioned non violent people are slaughtered.

They shouldn’t be willing to be follow someone actively and blatently committing treason.

He’s really not doing anything out of the ordinary for the American Empire, unfortunately.

I wish more US troops would commit treason and go against the US settler colonial project. There have been cases.

Seems like currently the plan is to clog the plumbing on the ships so they have to return home for repairs. How long until they resort to fragging again?
