Hmm I’d say the comic could use also that - a pumped up guy with big chest, wearing an exposing shirt and then being angry at people staring at his chest

Fediverse@lemmy.world•The Fediverse and Content Creation: MonetizationEnglish
14·2 months agoMaybe it’s just nostalgia but in my opinion, with youtube it went all to shit the moment the money started to be involved. Algorithm chasing, advertisement, reactive content, sponsors, quickly generated videos, … and all the other shit.

No, what you experienced is called apophenia - you see connections between things that are unrelated. Your friend is fine
And back then they weren’t called “memes” but we called them (de)motivational pictures
I’m afraid not. As crazy as it might sound now, in like 20-30 years you’ll see an aircraft carrier, a hospital, a school, etc. named after him and people being nostalgic about his regime. Just look at Ronald Reagan

This is why I find UBI to be naive. At least in the current system
Edit: Actually in any current system when I think about it. Let’s take China or North Korea. If they’d invent robots that can do all the manual jobs, do you think that they’d just let all their citizens to sit on their asses and be fed like a livestock? In a world where every country tries to one-up every other country? And they keep like 1 billion of workforce just sit on their ass?
