been a long long time since I’ve seen this template, noice.
In an absurd world we act absurdly.
I like a bit of levity, especially when much of the political news sounds like a shitpost. At least here one can recommend punching Nazis and saying kids should be allowed to physically defend themselves while being titillated by soapy tiddies and letting the bean team bake.
What the uncultured calls shitposting, I call philosophy.
Guilty as charged
Well aside from the ones with cute anime girls…

The internet is one giant shitpost. It’s a shit microcosm of shit Randy. Just shit muffins all the way down.
Not another night of the shitternet, please?
And it’s not even close

How do you see that stat? And what are the numbers specifically?
The number is the number of posts viewed that belonged to that community. A view is defined as either opening the image or tapping on the post.
Ah makes sense, thanks. How can you view that stat? I’m curious what mine are.
This is a feature in Summit (a Lemmy/PieFed app). If you are using Summit you can view these stats in You > Local account stats.
Disclosure: I am the developer of Summit.
How do I see this on my side?
Not sure which client you’re using but on Summit click on “You” in the bottom right, then scroll down to “Local account stats” and it should be in there
To be noted: it works only if you use only summit to use lemmy, otherwise it’s kinda useless as that feature only works locally on summit
Oh, I see. Didn’t know that. Do other clients have a similar feature?
I use Thunder and it doesn’t
Bummer
Shitpost is a catchall community. You can post just about anything here. There’s a lot of discussion that goes on in some posts, and other posts that are simply ‘heh bewbs’ level content.
I love the randomness of it because it jives with the way my brain works. I flit about like a methed up hummingbird, and so does this community.
I feel like Lemmy/Piefed made a big mistake if you compare it to the early days of Reddit. Peoplee here always try to put everything into neat little categories called communities, but most of them are dead or only have a single person posting stuff with zero comments. In the early days of Reddit there were no subreddits, you can still see how that looks on Hacker News for example. Lemmy should’ve started like that and introduce communties much later, as a consequence [email protected] has become the catch all community all this should’ve started with.
That’s true.
I have three pretty much dead communities I made which seemed like good ideas at the time but are just way too niche and I have way too little time to promote them. I’m subscribed to a pile of communities that are dead as well
Wait, it’s all shitposts?
Always has been
Lemmyshitpost isn’t one of the top ten communities on Lemmy for no reason
Still get comments removed by mods

Allow me to introduce you to the humble [email protected]
I liked that community a lot, until the admin banned me for being ableist. I legitimately don’t know what I did to piss them off, other than the reason the left in the mod log (calling me an ableist shitbag).
I feel like I’m pretty chill, and usually cautious, but I guess they didn’t see it that way.
The stick enthusiasts community will be avenged for this ghastly slight.
