I’ve seen no concrete proof that the video is not authentic. It’s with in the realm of possibility that Elon has two left feet.

The sad thing is that shit like this is more likely to get Elon Musk out than Congress, because all anyone seems to care about is Trump’s ego.
That is unironically the best possible strategy. This admin isn’t exactly monolithic. The main thing they all have in common is that they’re filthy rich and want to be even richer, but apart from that many of them have massive egos and god complexes all of their own. Driving a wedge between them is logically the best way forward.

I would say there is a meta element to this kind of attack that is less directly about public perception, though that exists, and more about the target’s perception and how “they” want to be seen.
